About the League of Campus Organizations (LCO)
OBJECTIVES AND PRINCIPLES
Article III, LCO-CBL
SEC.1. The LCO shall cover the following objectives and principles :
1.1 To establish unity by strengthening the relationship among different organizations of the University by practicing such rights and respect of the identity of every individual;
1.2 To build up leadership by setting a good representation of oneself in all league’s undertakings;
1.3 To maintain the security and peacefulness inside and outside the campus by building harmonious association to one another;
1.4 To empower the students’ cooperation by generating activities which can mold the behavior and skills for a well-developed institution of higher learning;
1.5 To uplift the merit of student organizations such as religious, academic, non-academic organizations, and such other student groups, which the programs and activities initiated are useful and/or are of benefits to the student body.
Duties and Responsibilities of the League of Campus Organizations
Article VI, LCO-CBL
SEC.1. The duties of the President shall be to :
- Represent the LCO body during Legislative Meetings and other meetings deemed by the CSG;
- Preside over all Board of Officers, Board of Councils and regular/general assembly meetings;
- Calls special, regular, and assembly meetings;
- Enforce and execute the by-laws and other implementing rules and regulations;
- Supervise all affairs of the league;
- Exercise the power of appointment for all appointive positions in the Board of Officers and shall inform the rest of the members of the board;
- Sign all LCO transactions and/or any activity generated and initiated by the league or by the organization under the league;
- Present reports to all members at the end of the term of office;
- Assume and exercise such other duties as may be incidental to his/her office.
SEC.2. The Vice President shall :
- Take over the executive power in the absence of the President or upon formal declaration of the same;
- Assume responsibility regarding communication and coordination among the Board of Officers and the different working committees;
- Exercise management oversight in securing the duties and functions of the Board of Officers and the Board of Councils;
- Perform other legitimate function as may be provided by law.
SEC.3. The Secretary shall :
- Read/take brief minutes of each meeting and take care of any major correspondence concerning the organization as a whole;
- Keep track, update, and receive data/documents of the league;
- Issue notices, circulars and memoranda as may be considered necessary, and shall certify any act or resolution of the league upon the approval of the LCO President;
- Perform other legitimate function as may be provided by law.
SEC.4. The Treasurer shall :
- Collect, receive and keep all financial data of the league. He/She shall deposit the fund to the League’s Bank Account;
- Sign and release funds for expenses upon the approval of the LCO President and Chairmen of all councils;
- Sudmit a duly audited financial data to the owner branches;
- Present financial data to the members during General assembly and at the end of the term of office;
- Perform other legitimate function as may be provided by law.
SEC.5. The Auditor shall :
- Check the financial records of the league;
- Verify and audit all cash in-flows and out-flows recorded by the LCO Treasurer;
- Perform other function as may be provided by law.
SEC.6. The Public Relations Officer shall :
- Take charge of publicity, including advertisements and other propaganda for the League, and shall perform other duties incidental to his/her office which may be prescribed by the President;
- Keep the public informed about the League and all other activities and programs that the League is rendering and offering;
- Perform other legitimate function as may be provided by law.
SEC.7. The Chairman of each council shall :
- Manage all the organizations under his/her council;
- Preside and call meetings under his/her council;
- Inform the Public Relations Officer for the councils’ meeting;
- Have the records of all organizations under his/her council;
- Cooperate or negotiate to the Board of Officers.
SEC.8. The Co-Chairman of each council shall :
- Assist their respective chairman in all matters where his/her assistance is necessary;
- Perform such other duties assigned by their chairman.
