Significance of the Event
The ceremonial turnover marked an important milestone for all the cooperators involved in the SSF initiative, particularly as it symbolized the successful transfer of equipment and ownership of the SSF facilities. To qualify for this turnover, cooperators, including educational institutions like CSU Cabadbaran, had to meet specific requirements and deliverables set forth by the DTI under the Framework for the Regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FRIED) Hub.
The DTI’s SSF project has been instrumental in empowering local businesses, fostering innovation, and contributing to economic growth by providing access to modernized equipment and resources. For universities and academic institutions like CSU, the initiative has been a gateway to practical knowledge and a means to better support local industries.
Supporting Local Development and Empowering MSMEs
DTI-Agusan del Norte has long been dedicated to fostering the growth of MSMEs in the region, recognizing that their development is key to building a more resilient and sustainable local economy. The SSF program is one of the department’s efforts to equip these businesses with the necessary tools and technologies to improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness.
Through this ceremonial turnover, DTI also acknowledged the collaborative efforts of all partners, which include local cooperators, universities, and other organizations, for their significant contributions in driving the success of the SSF initiative.
Looking Ahead
As the SSF project continues to develop and expand, it is expected to provide even more opportunities for educational institutions, such as Caraga State University, to engage directly with the regional economy. The collaboration between CSU Cabadbaran and DTI not only serves as a model for public-private partnerships but also reflects the university’s ongoing role in regional development.
The participation of Ms. Mae Karren L. Correos, alongside other stakeholders, further strengthens CSU Cabadbaran’s commitment to its mission of fostering innovation and supporting the growth of the local tourism and hospitality industries, aligning with the goals of the SSF project.
With the formal turnover of equipment and the recognition of key cooperators, the future of the SSF project looks promising as it continues to nurture local enterprises and contribute to the economic development of Caraga region.
